I don’t think there are many people in India who have not heard the name of Canara Bank. Forget the name, there are very few people who have not seen a branch of this bank in their region. Being one of the public sector banks, this bank has a good presence in India. Almost every town and village is covered by this bank.

If you have an account with this bank. Then you will probably know that you can check your account balance by various means. If you don’t know then let me tell you that you can check your bank account balance by following 6 ways in India.

But today we will not be discussing all the 6 ways. Instead, we will be focusing on the 1 way today. And the way I am talking about is with the help of the ATM machine. I will tell you the steps to check your remaining Canara Bank balance with the help of the ATM machine.

There was a time when you could use your ATM card in the machine that is owned by your bank. But this thing has come to an end decades before in India. I am telling you because no matter which bank owns the ATM machine in India. The machine will support the cards issued by all Indian banks and also some international banks.

So if you don’t find any Canara Bank ATM machine nearby. Then there is no need to worry. You can use the ATM machine of the other banks as well. But here you need to keep one thing in your mind. And that is about the charges that may be applied to you.

How Can I Use the ATM Machines to Check My Canara Bank Balance?

There are only a few free transactions every month that you can do using your ATM Card. So make sure you have not used up all of those free transactions. In that case, I would recommend you to use other methods to check Canara Bank balance.

Because, if you are overusing your card then you will be charged by Canara Bank. So this was some of the important things you should know. Now let us shift our focus from this and fix the focus on the steps that you need to follow to check your balance using the ATM Machine.

Step 1: Find and Visit the Nearest ATM Machine

If you know the nearest ATM machine then you can directly go there. If not then you can ask someone or use the map application on your phone to locate the nearest one. Once you located the machine go to the machine, or I can say visit the machine.

Step 2: Insert your ATM Card

You have to insert your ATM card into the machine if you have a card with just the magnetic strip. Then you just have to swipe the card in and out. But if you have the card with the EMV smart chip. Then you should not remove the card until you have finished the use of the card.

Step 3: Select Language and Enter your PIN Number

Now you are in front of the machine all set to use it to check your balance. You now have to select the language in which you want to use the machine. All over India, the machines have English and Hindi languages along with the regional local language. So you won’t face any kind of language barrier while using the machine.

After selecting the language enter your confidential 4 digits number into the machine. If the machine has the touch screen interface to enter the number then you use that. If not then you can make use of the physical keypad of the machine.

Step 4: Select the Type of Account

Now you have to select the type of account you have with Canara Bank. That is you need to select between a current account or savings bank account.

Step 5: Select Balance Enquiry or Mini Statement

Now, this is the last step where you can do 2 things. The first one is balance inquiry which will tell you about the current remaining balance. You can just view the balance on the screen or get a print out of the same. And the second one is you can get a mini statement. Which will contain the details of your balance and also recent transactions.

Follow these 5 steps and you will be able to check your Canara Bank account balance very easily using the ATM Machine of any bank in India.
